Greek soldiers fight the Axis Italian Fascist invasion in the mountains of Albania during the Greco-Italian War, which lasted from 28 October 1940 to 23 April 1941. The soldiers prepare to fire a 65mm mountain gun while the artillery target officer on the right calculates the trajectory. The Greco-Italian War marked the beginning of the Balkan Campaign and the initial Greek counter-offensive was the first successful Allied land campaign against the Axis forces in the war.
